Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults against 38 victims who were patients.

The Serious Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

List of Charges

Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.

Police are urging individuals with information to get in touch with the investigating team.
