NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features live text of the weekend matchups via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking in those games were the amount of infractions each conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter against Denver, who play in London this Sunday.

But it was positive to observe that Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to have the shortfall and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the game 21-17.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and Denver won that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers but they might position two LBs in the interior then withdrawing them and send a slot defender off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, we said on a program that Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They finished last season strongly and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

New TE Evan Engram has stepped up big while new RB their rusher is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that head coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush and maintains in positive down and distances.

This has helped QB Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they don't move the mobility as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.

His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, and using varied release points to deliver throws when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He can deliver precision throws over the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He tries to evade a sack as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

If you consistently rush it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to stay on the field for longer, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the area downfield side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has bitten back with the coach during games sometimes and I think Payton appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's fun for the coach to have a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can truly build something up how he wants to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and now passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely down to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to face a top squad at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. The key is is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they should do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the only team yet to win a game.

Since the league started recording takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the first team to go without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they face because the Broncos {beat|def
