Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, indicated that a future comeback remains an option. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-year spell that included a European Cup triumph and the Premier League crown in 30 years, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

The club claimed the Premier League under Arne Slot, yet numerous supporters who revere Klopp would embrace the possibility that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he shared with his interviewer: “I stated I won't manage another team within the country. So that means if then it’s Liverpool...absolutely. It's plausible.”

“At 58 years old, that means the choice could be mine down the line, who knows. Is a decision required immediately? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I can just see what lies ahead.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding the specific conditions must arise to tempt his return to management, he revealed he isn't eager toward coming back. “It's unclear to me, I enjoy my current role,” he stated. “No longing for management; No desire to be during downpours for lengthy sessions; I don’t miss going to media briefings repeatedly each week or having 10-12 interviews weekly.

“The locker room isn't missed as a dressing room, however, dining out alongside the squad talking freely, I appreciate that. With many victories so there was often a very good mood at the club. I still have the captain's chuckle in my ear to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended for his successor, crediting him for the adjustments which secured the championship last term. They've been defeated four in a row across various tournaments following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the notion of it representing a decline.

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in while in charge, and the effect on Liverpool. The Portugal international was killed in a road accident together with his sibling this past summer.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? It’s not about his on-field talent, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the squad missing him. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. It was an incredible shock for all the boys also. No one within the club will ever use it as an excuse but it is the situation. Entering the changing area where he was omnipresent. Coping with it on a personal level is challenging. Impossible.”
